Community Health Centre
Working as a team, our organization provides appropriate services and interventions to reduce and manage incidences of diseases in the communities we work with as a basis of building the foundation for a healthy future. We are currently constructing a community health center at Ayweyo Shopping Center - Nyando Sub- County. It will provide primary to the public and reduce the time taken to get medical assistance that will include safe delivery for mothers.
AGYW's Reproductive Health Project
Young people are the fastest growing segment of the population in both poor and middle - income developing countries. The project help adolescence girls and young women ( AGYW) with their sexual and reproductive health ( SRH) issues and rights as well as reducing and preventing occurrences of gender based violence.
Child Nutrition
The quality and quantity and nutrition a child is given during infancy and childhood is vital to support optimal growth and development. MEDREF Through schools and medical facilities provides nutritional support to both expectant and breast feeding mothers. the aim is to reduce nutritional related complications and ailments.
WASH
Clean water, basic toilets and good hygiene practices are essential for the survival of children. Water and sanitation - related diseases are one of the leading causes of death for children under five years of age.
Economic empowerment
MEDReF trains women groups on business skills, provide loans and business incentives to empower women
Environmental Sustainability
The organization trains local communities on climate change, change mitigations and environmental conservation. We also provide fruit trees and other trees seedlings.
Disaster Risk Reduction
We train communities on disaster risk reduction and emergency response. The trainings cover first aid (in partnership with Safetynet Consultancy Ltd), fire, floods and accidents emergency response.
Community Resource Center
The idea behind the creation of a Community resource centre was to provide a safe haven for community youths; a place where they can grow and develop skills including information and knowledge on sexual reproductive health issues, especially HIV/AIDS.
COVID-19 and Emerging Issues
COVID- 19 is a current world health pandemic that neccesitate an isolated responce for mitigation. MEDReF supports communities, churches, schools and the general public with incentives that mitigates both the spread and consequences of the pandemic.
